And off he rode, on his bike, into the sunset. The best rider in Die Tour Phantome history (and probably the best Die Tour Phantome-rider ever) left the team today. Falur Sigfinnursson, known by many as just Falur, was let go by team management.
"We are very thankful of what Falur brought to this team", said manager Alexx in a short statement. "He took this team to Top Division and kept us there for several years. Won Vuelta de los Castillos, my proudest moment as a manager. But the simple fact of the matter is that professional cycling is business. And this is a business decision. We need the money to get younger."
Not too much younger, because 31 year old Irishman Amos Gordon was acquired as Falurs replacement. But that's just a side note today. Day 82 in season 25 will always be remembered as the day of the Farewell to Falur.
